Nestled within the picturesque St. Gallen Rhine Valley at the foot of the Pizol is Bad Ragaz, a town with a long tradition for its thermal water and health resorts. For 175 years, well-heeled guests have been traveling here during the holiday season and staying at the Grand Resort. In late 2015, 3-Michelin-star chef Andreas Caminada of Schauenstein Schloss fame opens his second restaurant, IGNIV.
The philosophy of IGNIV is based on the concept of sharing culinary art where indulgence and time take center stage, a place to experiencing a lasting gourmet adventure where the sharing of dishes between friends and acquaintances is celebrated.
IGNIV is Rhaeto-Romanic for "nest" and the interior designed by renowned Spanish designer Patricia Urquiola reflects that with the use of our Cooee Brass Cordless Table Lamps, golden hued table bases, wall paneling of wooden parquet and dark wood furnishings.
Within ten months of the restaurant opening, IGNIV has already been awarded 1 Michelin star and 16 Gault Millau points. In the meantime, Caminada’s protégé chef Silvio Germann was also named “Discovery of the Year" by Switzerland's Gault Millau.
